London 2012 Home Head Journey

Why we're getting behind Bethany Woodward and London 2012.

We are delighted to announce that we are now supporting local Paralympic athlete, Bethany Woodward, as she attempts to qualify for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Following the appointment of BMW Group as the Official Automotive Partner of the 2012 Games, BMW is now actively supporting British athletes, such as Ellie Simmonds and Louis Smith, via the BMW London 2012 Performance Team. Meanwhile, in line with the Performance Team initiative, BMW dealers like us will be working with local athletes, supporting their endeavors to qualify for Team GB or ParalympicsGB.

Born and bred in Bournemouth, Bethany has been running since the age of 12 and at just 18 has already achieved World Champion status, has a number of National Age Group Records and has represented Great Britain in the Commonwealth Games. Bethany currently trains in North London to maximise her chances of competing in the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

‘This is just so great,’ said Bethany ‘I can't thank Wood in Salisbury and BMW enough. I spend a lot of time driving to and from training sessions and driving to events ahead of London 2012 so having a brand new car is amazing. Suddenly, I'm the envy of all my friends!’

‘We're really pleased to be backing Bethany,’ said James Currant, Dealer Principal at Wood in Salisbury. ‘Attempting to qualify for the London 2012 Games can't be easy so we're more than happy to help in any way we can. It's also a great opportunity for everyone connected with the dealership to get more involved with the 2012 Games.’
